Nashville is home to a host of country legends. If you’ve ever visited the city, you’ve experienced the incredible sounds of upcoming music stars captivating audiences as you stroll downtown Nashville.
Hampton Presbyterian Church is bringing a bit of Nashville to to the “Burg” and will present an evening of music and fellowship in a Coffeehouse setting with Jeremy Casella on August 8 at 7:00 pm.
Since 1999, Jeremy Casella has been crafting his unique singer/ songwriter style, a blend of acoustic folk and rock with occasional harmonica thrown in for fun. A step apart from many of today’s guys-with-guitars, Casella’ music is truly original and authentic. He writes songs about his faith, infusing them with images of his every day life…time spent in his favorite city of New Orleans, his native-Pennsylvania, or his current home of Nashville. Visit Jeremy’s website at www.jeremycasella.com.
Though he draws influence from artists like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Neil Finn, Casella doesn’t aim to pattern himself after what’s been done before. His distinctive soulful vocals, adept guitar playing, and deep lyrical insight continue to connect with audiences in search of an engaging musical experience.
Frequent opening gigs for friend and mentor Phil Keaggy, as well as a slot on Caedmon’s Call’s fall 2004 tour have helped solidified Casella as one of today’s rising songwriters. “Christianity Today” magazine has hailed his most recent album with 5 stars and quotes, “… A beautiful album to say the least.”
This is the perfect summertime gathering. Call Hampton Presbyterian Church at 724-443-3201 for more details or go to www.hamptonpresbyterian.org. Tickets are $10.00 at the door. Price includes coffee and refreshments.
